The regatta activities must be carried out in accordance with the provisions on combating and containing the spread of COVID 19 issued by the Federation that the Organizing Committees will activate and which the participating members must comply with under the supervision of the Organizing Committee. Any cases of COVID 19 that may be detected during the event will be reported by the Organizing Committee to the competent health bodies in charge.

Event will be held on the waterfront of Congrega Velisti Cesenatico – West Beach


3.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024 (RRS)

3.2 The Class Rules will apply except for any that are altered by the Notice of Race or the Sailing Instruction;

3.3 The FIV Prescriptions (to RRS) will apply;

3.4 RRS Appendix T Arbitration will apply;

3.5 Rules will be changed in this way:

a) [Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.]

b) [Rules 35 and A4 will be changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 20 minutes after the first boat of its class sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish.]

c) [Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state, that a competitor cannot protest another boat or competitor for breaches for some specific parts of the sailing instructions.]

d) [Rules 61.3 and 62.2 will be changed to fix the protest time to 60 minutes for competitors, protest committee as well as race committee.]

e) [Rule 66 will be changed to shorten the time limit for reopening protest hearings.]

 f) [Rule A4 will be changed by stating, that a boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.]

g) Any changes in the Notice of Race (NOR) will be published at the event website and on the official notice board

3.6 The IHCA Class Rules Penality Policy will apply;

3.7 If there is a conflict between languages, the Italian text will prevail

3.8 If there is a conflict between NoR and Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions will prevail


4.1 The Regatta is open to the class of Tornado, A Class, Hobie Cat 14 , Hobie Cat 16, F 18  and all  other catamaran classes at least 10 boats admitted. Less of 10 admitted boats will compete in correct time as per “ISAF Small Catamaran Rating” in the following groups: 17 feet, 19 feet and 21 feet.

4.2 Sailors of the class Hobie Cat 14 Class must be registered for the year 2022.

4.3 Italian sailors shall carry to the OA their FIV membership  card valid for year 2022 with valid medical certificate Foreigner sailors shall comply with their National Authority regulation.

4.4 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of € 1.500.000 per event or the equivalent if expressed in other currency, as required on FIV prescriptions on Regulation 67 RRS and following amendments. The above mentioned documents must be shown at the secretary of the organizing club no later than 11:00 am of June 3rd 2022. Foreign competitors shall show insurance liability contract in Italian or English language.


5.1 Entry fee is € 80,00 single  and € 120,00 double crew and shall be paid via bank transfer or PayPal not later than April 2nd. Any late entry will be subject to the additional entry fees of € 20,00 single and is € 30,00 double crew.

5.2 The registration shall be displayed at the Entry List only when the Entry Form with all information filled in and the payment of the non-refundable entry fee shall be sent successfully.

The warning signal for the 1st race on April 16th 2022 will be given at 2 pm. The time of the warning signal for the first race on the following days will be given by a notice on the official notice board before 8 pm the day before it will take effect. In case of no communication on the notice board the race will be schedule at the same time as the day before. On last racing day, no warning signal will be displayed after 4.30 p.m.


7.1 A valid measurement certificate shall be shown to the organizing authority at registration.

8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS Sailing instructions will be available on line on website and displayed on the official notice board from 3.00 pm of April 15th 2022


9.1 A maximum of 9 races is scheduled with maximum 2 discard.

9.2 Every day a maximum of 3 races may be held

9.3 The Low Point System of Appendix ‘A’ of RRS will apply.

(a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

(b) When from 5 to 8 races have be completed, a boat’s score will be the total of her scores excluding the worst score

(c) When 9 races or more have been completed, a boat’s score will be the total of her scores excluding the two worst scores

(d)The event will be valid even with only one race held.


10.1 RRS 44.1 is changed, so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty;

10.2 The Sailing Instructions may include a specification of discretionary penalties that may be applied by the International Jury for breaches of specific rules. The Sailing Instructions may include a specification of standard penalties that may be applied by the International Jury without hearing for specific rules; this will change RRS 63.1 and A5 . These will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions.

10.3 Arbitration will be in effect for protests involving RRS Part 2.

11.4 In accordance with RRS 78, competitors are responsible for maintaining their boat in accordance with the Class Rules (for the purpose of RRS 78, competitors are considered to be the owners). Boats may be subject to inspection at any time during the event. The procedures for inspections will be specified in the sailing instructions or equipment inspection regulations (EIR).


The first 5 absolute classified crews will be awarded for every class or group with at least 25 competitors .

The first 3 absolute classified crews will be awarded for every class or group with at least 10 competitors.

The first absolute classified crews will be awarded for every class or group with less then 10 competitors

A special prize, the “City of Cesenatico Trophy”, will be awarded to the first overall boat (trophy formula is: the ratio of number of boats entered in all classes to number of boat entered in own class, multiplied by the ratio of number of races scheduled to number of races sailed, added to the boat’s series score)


Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk and with the approval of an adult guardian (See RRS 4, Decision to Race). Each competitor will be responsible for the decision of start or continue racing. The Organizing Committee, the Race Committee and the Jury will not accept any responsibility for any damage that might be caused to persons or property both in water and on the ground before, during and after the races. Sailors aged less than 18 years shall be authorized by their parents with a written.

13 ADVERTISING Advertising is permitted as Regulation 20 W.S Italian boats displaying advertisements must submit the FIV licence. Competitors may be required from the organizing authority to display advertising stickers or/and flag on both sides of the hull during the whole event.

14 PHOTOS AND / OR TELEVISION RIGHTS Participants grant full rights and permission to the Organising Authority to publish and / or transmit by any means, any photograph or filmed shooting of people or boats during the event, including but not limited to, television commercials and all they can be used to their editorial or advertising purposes or for printed information.
